How to Stand Out on Social Media as a Social Seller

Why most social sellers are struggling to communicate their perspective, voice and point of difference online.

One of the biggest misconceptions in social selling right now is that people are struggling because they are not posting enough.

We all know consistency matters. Social media has spent years telling us to post more, show up more and stay visible. And honestly, most social sellers are doing that now. They are posting consistently. They are showing up on Stories. They are creating reels. They are trying.

But despite all of that effort, so many still feel invisible online.

The real problem is that nothing in their content explains why THEM.

Why should someone land on your profile and choose you over the hundreds of other people talking about the exact same topic?

That is the question most people are not answering in the social selling space.

Why Most Social Sellers Struggle to Stand Out on Social Media

A lot of social sellers are sharing their company, it’s social media graphics, and products.

They are talking about:

  • joining their team

  • their products + features

  • the flexible business opportunity

  • their company + posting their graphics

But they are not building a personal brand by sharing their perspective.

And that is why people watch their content without actually acting on it.

Generic content sounds like:

“This product changed my skin.”

Perspective-led content sounds like:

“I was too exhausted to keep wasting money on skincare products that sat untouched in my bathroom drawer after two weeks, so I stopped looking for more products and started looking for a system I would actually stick to.”

Because people do not choose social sellers purely based on information & product features anymore. They choose people based on connection, perspective and trust.

This is why two creators can talk about the exact same topic and get completely different results.

One sounds memorable, because they communicate what they stand for.
The other sounds interchangeable.

And honestly, this is becoming one of the biggest problems in personal branding right now.

If you struggle to explain why people should choose you, start by learning how to craft your brand story that builds trust instead of just sharing random life updates.

Hook Frames to Help You Stand Out on Social Media

One of the fastest ways to build authority online is learning how to communicate a perspective, not just information.

These are the types of hook frames that stop people scrolling because they challenge assumptions, create tension and position you differently online:

  • “The problem isn’t [surface problem].”

  • “You don’t need more [thing]. You need [deeper shift].”

  • “Most people are completely wrong about [topic].”

  • “If you’re still relying on [old strategy], this is for you.”

  • “Stop doing [behaviour] with [topic].”

  • “The advice to [common advice] is why [negative result].”

  • “You’re not bad at [thing]. You’re applying the wrong rules.”

  • “You think you need [surface solution], but what you actually need is [deeper truth].”

  • When [specific challenge] happened, I decided to [new action].

  • This month I [tangible result], without [thing they don’t want to do].

  • Here’s what no one tells you about [topic].

Notice how these hooks do more than just teach.

They create curiosity, challenge beliefs and position you as somebody with a clear perspective.

That is what builds a personal brand people actually remember.

Looking at Other People’s Content Is Ruining Your Personal Brand

Most people are spending too much time consuming content before they create it.

They are scrolling endlessly looking for ideas. Watching what other creators or social sellers are doing. Searching for trending hooks. Trying to figure out what is “working”.

But eventually, something happens.

You start sounding like everybody else. You repeat the same advice, use the same language and eventually lose your own perspective completely.

This is exactly why so much content online feels forgettable right now.

Because people are building their content around what everybody else is saying instead of building it around their own perspective.

People do not trust creators because they post perfectly polished content. They trust creators whose stories create emotional recognition and perspective.

How to Build a Personal Brand People Actually Remember

If you want to know how to stand out on social media, the answer is not posting ten times a day.

The answer is learning how to communicate your point of difference clearly.

That means:

  • using your own words

  • sharing your own observations

  • talking about your lived experience

  • speaking from perspective instead of scripts

  • creating content that sounds human instead of manufactured

People remember specificity.

They remember the small details.
The real stories.
The emotional truth.
The moments that feel lived in.

That is what creates connection online.

And honestly, this is where so many social sellers accidentally build beige brands.

They are so focused on sounding polished, professional or “correct” that they remove all personality from their content completely.

But your audience does not connect to perfect.

They connect to perspective, disruptive opinions and a point of difference.

Create Before You Consume on Social Media

One of the biggest habits that will strengthen your personal brand is learning to create before you consume.

Before you scroll Instagram, open TikTok or start searching for inspiration.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I actually think about this?

  • What have I experienced?

  • What perspective do I bring?

  • What conversations am I constantly having?

  • What do I notice that other people are missing?

Because the social sellers who stand out online are usually not the ones posting the most.

They are the ones who sound the most recognisable.

One of the biggest mindset shifts in personal branding is realising your best content ideas usually come from your lived experience, conversations and perspective — not endless scrolling.

The Real Reason People Choose You Online

People choose creators who feel clear.

Clear in their message.
Clear in their perspective.
Clear in what they stand for.

That clarity builds trust.

And trust is what gets people to:

  • follow you

  • binge your content

  • remember your name

  • join your offers

  • respond to your calls to action

  • and eventually buy from you

That is how you get people to choose you instead of just watching your content passively.

Because at the end of the day, you do not need more content.

You need to start speaking from your point of difference.

That is what makes people remember you.
